  2.         SOME REASONS WHY THERE  IS  FAILURE  TO  RECEIVE
  3.  
  4. After diligently studying God's Word and seeing the truth of
  5. healing so clearly revealed, a question often asked is "Why do so
  6. many fail to receive it?" Let's have a look at some of the reasons.
  7.  
  8. 1.  LACK OF KNOWLEDGE      Hosea 4:6
  9.  
  10. Faith for healing is produced the same way as faith for salvation. 
  11. The Word concerning healing must be taught and Romans 10:17 says
  12. "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." THE WORD
  13. IS SEED and MUST BE PLANTED IN GOOD SOIL. (Mark 4:14, 1 Peter 1:23
  14. ) THE WORD IS THE REASON FOR OUR FAITH.  We need to get knowledge
  15. of God's Will on healing, then faith for His Will to be performed
  16. in our lives will come as the "seed" is planted in the soil of our
  17. heart.
  18.  
  19. Whenever going through a test, we must be able to say "It is
  20. written that " and then be able to quote to the  enemy'  a  promise 
  21. that declares God's Will.  Unless you are able to do this, your
  22. faith will not remain steadfast through the test.  Matthew 4:4
  23.  
  24. In the Book of Acts, we find the church in UNITY on the subject of
  25. Healing.  So often today we see opposition instead of agreement in
  26. prayer; doubt takes the place of faith and many are completely
  27. apathetic to the needs of the sick and those in bondage.In Acts 4,
  28. ALL the believers prayed for "signs and wonders" and were filled
  29. with the Spirit.  In James 5, we are commanded to pray for the sick
  30. to be healed. 1 John 4:14,15 says "This is the CONFIDENCE that we
  31. can have in Him that if we ask anything according to His Will, He
  32. HEARS us!

  34. 2.  UNBELIEF  Mark 6:5,6
  35. Ps. 8-41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and LIMITED the
  36. Holy One of Israel." Every believer should be seeking to live and
  37. walk in the Spirit so that they will not limit God in His working.
  38.  
  39. Mark 6:5,6 says "And he (Jesus) marvelled because of their
  40. unbelief." All unbelief hinders the operation of God's power. 
  41. Unbelief is belief in The circumstances.  It is based on the
  42. natural SENSES rather than in God.  Jesus taught If thou canst
  43. believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23
  44.  
  45. 3.   UNFORGIVENESS, RESENTMENT, HATRED, etc.  HINDER THE FLOW OF
  46.      HEALING TO YOUR BODY.
  47. The Bible teaches us that if we want forgiveness of our sins, we
  48. must forgive others.  Matthew 18:35 Mark 11:25,26 teaches us that
  49. we must forgive in order for our Father to forgive us.  If we do
  50. not forgive, neither will God forgive us our trespasses!

  52. 4.   LACK OF DILIGENCE IN SEEKING GOD MAY BE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE
  53.      TO RECEIVE HEALING.  Hebrews 11:6

  55. We must diligently seek God.  PUT GOD FIRST.  Attend - take notice
  56. - of His Word and allow it to govern your life.  Hebrews 10:35 Some
  57. people show much mare diligence in acting on the Word of a doctor
  58. than they do in acting on the Word of God.

  60. 5.   FAITH FOR HEALING GETS WEAK LOOKING AT THE SYMPTOMS! Romans
  61.      4:19 
  62. Think on the Promise, not the problem.  Think on the Saviour, not
  63. the sickness.  YOU CAN THINK ON THE  BIBLE  OR  THE  BODY.  The 
  64. choice  is  yours!
  65.  
  66.  6.  FAITH-WITHOUT WORKS PRODUCES NO RESULTS.  James 2:26
  67. "For as the body without the spirit (breath) is dead, so faith
  68. without works is dead also.". You do what you can do and God will
  69. do what you can't do! In Mark 11:24 we are taught that we must
  70. believe that we receive the things desired WHEN WE PRAY.  You get
  71. them AFTER you have believed that you have received them.

  73. We don't keep on asking but we keep on believing that we have
  74. received and we give God glory that He is able to perform His
  75. promise. Each day confess from a believing heart "According to Mark
  76. 11:24, I believe I have received.

  78. 7.   FAILURE TO RECEIVE HEALING COULD BE BECAUSE YOU ARE LOOKING
  79.      FOR THE ABSENCE OF SYMPTOMS TO PROVE YOU ARE HEALED RATHER
  80.      THAN BASING FAITH FOR YOUR HEALING ON THE WORD OF GOD ONLY.  
  81. Matthew 17:20, 19:26 The word of Go is, the only basis for faith. 
  82. Luke 4:4

  84. 8.   MENTAL ASSENT IS ANOTHER REASON FOR FAILURE TO RECEIVE. 
  85.      Romans 10:10, Heb.11:1 
  86. You believe with your heart, not your head! Just to agree mentally
  87. with the Scriptures is not sufficient.  You must ask the Holy
  88. Spirit to illuminate the Word to you so that heart faith comes. 
  89. Ps. 119:130 In other words, an "inner knowing" is always present
  90. when faith is operating.  This heart faith always produces results.
  91.  
  92. 9.   IMPATIENCE MAY CAUSE YOU TO GIVE UP.  James 1:4
  93. Patience is persevering on the Word.  Not giving up on the Word!!
  94. YOU STAND ON THE WORD AND WILL NOT GIVE UP YOUR BOLD CONFESSION OF
  95. THAT WORD.  Romans 15:4,5
  96. "Through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures we maintain our
  97. believing."

  99. 10.  DISREGARD OF HEALTH LAWS CAN PREVENT HEALING Prov.
  100.      23:2,3,20,21 
  101. Most people eat more than they actually need.  They "live to eat",
  102. instead of eating to *live -- and often die or become sick because
  103. of what they eat and the amount of what they eat!
  104.      If you don't keep your teeth clean, you will get cavities!
  105.      If you don't watch your calories, you will get overweight!
  106. Phil. 2:26,27,30  Why had Epaphroditus got so ill?  He had not
  107. broken a moral law but a physical law. Paul's companion had
  108. laboured beyond his strength.  With limited strength, it    is
  109. possible to go beyond what you have! We should walk daily in God's
  110. wisdom. Proverbs 4:7
  111.  
  112. 11.   FAILURE TO WATCH OUR WORDS Mark 11:23, Prov. 6:2. 18:21 
  113. The Bible is "God breathed 2 Tim. 3:16.
  114. Hosea 14:2 "Take with you WORDS and turn to the Lord." TAKE GOD'S
  115. WORDS AND CONFESS THEM BEFORE HIM.  The sick, in order to get help,
  116. must change what they are saying: Matt. 12: 37 "By thy words thou
  117. shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

  119. Let the weak say    "The Lord is the strength of my life"  Ps.
  120.                     27:1
  121. Let the sick say    "By  His  stripes  I  am  healed.  He 
  122.                     forgives  all  my  iniquities,  He heals all
  123.                     my diseases." 1 Pet. 2:24, Ps. 103:3 
  124. Let the fearful say "The Lord is on my side, I will not fear: what
  125.                     can man do unto me?" Ps. 118:6
  126. Let the anxious say "I have no care because I cast all my care
  127.                     upon Him and He cares for me." 1 Peter 5:7
  128.  
  129. God watches over His Word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12
  130.  
  131. A PRAYER TO RECEIVE FROM GOD
  132. Heavenly Father.  I thank You for saving me. I love You with all my
  133. heart and I give your Word first place in my life. I forgive those
  134. who have wronged me.
  135. I bless those who have despitefully used me. I serve you joyfully
  136. and thank You that your Word is alive and powerful. I receive Your
  137. Promise to me according to----------------------- (insert your
  138. promise from God's Word to cover your need. 
  139. I thank You that Your Word will not return void, but it will go
  140. forth and  accomplish exactly what it says.  According to Mark
  141. 11:24, I believe I have received what I have asked for, because You
  142. have promised it. In Jesus' Name, I bind every force that would
  143. hinder, harass or interfere with the fulfilment of Your Word to me.
